... but what is it?

I'm probably the only adult who spent her weekend pondering the movement of dirt on such a scale.  Whose company was I keeping?

These little buggers work hard and fast -- too fast for my camera.  It's fascinating watching their progress.  Since Saturday, they have excavated three additional cracks in the pavement, and made quite an interesting Dirt Design.  I'm afraid the rain tonight will wash it away, but something's got to keep their efficiency in check.

* If anyone from Class is reading this, don't worry, I only spent a half hour at most outside before dutifully returning to slogging away at my homework.
