Block Shop Textiles

Block Shop scarves made the internet rounds awhile ago, but I'm still going nuts over them.  Block printed and dyed by hand in India, then laid in the sun to dry, each one is very special.  To learn more about the sisters who started the company and the process, visit their site.

Summer Wardrobe

I think I found my look for this summer.  Easy-peasy.  Although not in leather.

Wish List

I am dreaming of when I can buy myself one of these hand-painted silk shirts by Rachel Rose.  What am I saying, one?  I'd buy them all.

Watery pools of light

Wearing this ring would be like wearing a snapshot of the perfect swimming hole.  Always there to gaze into as if you were sitting alone on a hot rock, being cooled just by the sight of it.  Whoever made this ring in 1820 must have known exactly what I'm talking about.

From Erie Basin, purveyor of dreams.

Biking Bag

Tote bags are great, but a tote bag that turns into a backpack is even better.  Especially when riding a bike.  The Trans//Porter is handmade in Brooklyn and available from Dargelos.

Uniform : accessories

My dad has passed many things on to me, including his love of fine watches.  He recently sent me this Girard SeaHawk, sans band, which I have worn nonstop with a black ribbon band since receiving it.

Uniform

We've got another couple of months of really warm weather here in LA, but the rest of the country is gearing up for fall.  This is my uniform for the cooler months: Barbour Bedale jacket in black, white tee,  J Crew toothpick cords, and my mariachi boots.  If I'm not wearing this, I'm wearing some kind of vintage dress.

I'm a sucker for anything in waxed canvas.  Found here: Archival Clothing.  Perfect for gathering in the woods or on beaches.

Nature Styling

I love the styling of natural elements in these shots.  The tiny succulent terrariums, the strewn seedpods, the beautifully cluttered window sill (I love window sills).  As for the scarves in the images, I am a big fan of the tousle haired, wrapped in soft natural fibers, woman in the woods look.  Notaire is now on my radar.
