I was thankful to wake up to a sunny house this morning, especially when I saw how the light was catching my anniversary flowers.
Flowers from Clementine, arranged by me. There's nothing more beautiful than the gift of an armload of flowers wrapped in brown paper.

Remember the birthday party you had where the woman demonstrated flower arranging and said an arrangement always needed a little friend arrangement nearby? It was at Cheekwood in Nashville and you were 10 or 11.
Of course I remember! I've always loved arranging flowers, I suppose. And it's true, most arrangements do need a little friend nearby, be it a rock or sculpture or something. You should see my mantel these days - it's a wild cluster of flowers and friends (mostly pinecones).
